THE RATE OF FIDYAH FOR MISSED RAMADAN FASTS IN THE STATE OF PERLIS
1. The Perlis State Fatwa Committee agrees that it is not obligatory to multiply fidyah even when missed fasts have spanned across multiple years.
2. The current fidyah rate for missed fasting days in the State of Perlis, as agreed, is RM 5.00 for each day of fasting missed. This rate is based on the value of a single meal.
3. Fidyah may also be fulfilled in the form of providing meals to the poor and needy or giving them essential food directly, corresponding to the stated value.
4. Whoever voluntarily wishes to pay in excess of the obligatory fidyah rate, such an act is deemed a commendable practice.
