The Ruling On Multiple Friday Prayers In One Locality Or Parish

THE RULING ON MULTIPLE FRIDAY PRAYERS IN ONE LOCALITY OR PARISH
The original ruling is that it is impermissible to establish multiple Friday prayers in a given location or parish unless there exist reasons necessitating such practice. Among the relevant reasons are:
1. The congregation is compelled to traverse a considerable distance to attend Friday prayer due to the vastness of the parish.
2. There exist dangers or obstacles that render reaching the mosque difficult even if the distance is near, such as heavy traffic, rivers, forests, hills or anything that poses difficulty.
3. The existing mosque is excessively small and cannot accommodate the congregation.
4. Attendees or associated parties face security risks, such as inmates, healthcare personnel, hospital patients, security forces, and the like.
The aforementioned justifications enable the constituted authorities to consider granting permission for multiple Friday prayers in a location or parish.
For applications seeking to establish Friday prayers, the Perlis Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JAIPs) shall evaluate such requests based upon the reasons provided above.
