THE RULING ON BID'IE DIVORCE

Bid'ie divorce contravenes the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). As for the ruling on bid'ie divorce with regard to whether it takes effect or not, it has caused disagreement among scholars. The Perlis State Fatwa Committee has agreed to accept the view that bid'ie divorce, namely divorce during menstruation, post-natal bleeding, and when the wife is in a state of purity during which conjugal relations have taken place, takes effect.
