HOLDING A STAFF DURING THE KHUTBAH
The Fatwa Committee of Perlis resolves that it is not sunnah for the khaṭīb to hold a staff (‘aṣā) when delivering the khutbah, except if there is a need, such as for an elderly or physically weak khaṭīb, or in similar circumstances.
