FATWA ON CHILDREN'S TOY CLAW MACHINE

1. Children's Gaming Machines (K.B. FUN) or similar machines thereof are included within gambling (al-Maisir). This is because there exists a wager involving money whereby if successful, one will obtain the goods inside the machine, and if unsuccessful, the money will be lost. This constitutes a form of wagering prohibited by the Shariah, namely that one party will gain profit whilst another party will incur loss.

2. It is also observed to contain elements of deception and exploitation of children for the purpose of profit.

3. Muslims in the state of Perlis must abstain from involvement in such gambling games on these machines as it is included amongst major sins.

4. A Muslim is also forbidden from assisting in operating such gambling machines as it constitutes consuming wealth unlawfully.
