FATWA RELATED TO POWDER EMBROIDERY (COSMETIC TATTOOING), HAIR TRANSPLANT AND BEARD TRANSPLANT

Altering the creation of Allah in human beings is changing Allah's creation in a manner that can lead to deception of one's identity. However, alterations such as makeup or beauty treatments that have beneficial purposes (maslahah), do not lead to deception of one's identity, and do not harm oneself or one's property, are permissible.

1. Powder embroidery (cosmetic tattooing) treatment is found to not contain elements of identity deception (tadlis) and is permissible if it has beneficial purposes (maslahah) and does not lead to the following matters:

i. Harm to oneself and one's property

ii. Use of haram substances.

2. Hair transplant and beard transplant treatments are permissible if they fulfill the stated conditions, namely:

i. Having benefit/interest for the person undergoing it.

ii. Not causing identity deception.

iii. Not causing harm to oneself or one's property.
